Thriving Nottinghamshire business hub named as Business Venue of the Year

A thriving business hub has been named as the Nottinghamshire Business Venue of the Year in the 2019 East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.

The Mansfield Innovation Centre scooped the award at the Nottinghamshire Business Awards ceremony.

Managed by Oxford Innovation on behalf of Mansfield District Council, the Innovation Centre, described by judges as “a real community hub”, is a modern thriving business base located on the outskirts of Mansfield town centre, that provides space and support to a hotbed of pioneering businesses.

Receiving the award, sponsored by Nottingham Forest Football Club Community Trust, Mansfield Innovation Centre Manager, Hannah Hickman, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have won the award as we feel it is not only testament to our hard work as a team but also recognizes the success of many businesses we have supported over the year.

“In such a competitive environment, we believe we offer something bespoke and unique to ambitious young and local businesses that are looking to grow.”

Entrants in the Business of the Year category were required to demonstrate exceptional standards, service or quality over the past 12 months.

A spokesman for the awards said:

“Judges were looking to reward the venue that has had a significant impact on the business community, as well as the ability to demonstrate a clear plan for being at the heart of business development now and in the future.

“Mansfield Innovation Centre is a real community hub supporting local businesses, passionate about their customers and offering exceptional levels of engagement which creates a good experience for users.”

The Innovation Centre was one of 13 businesses to win an award on the night, as the Chamber celebrated the strength and successes of businesses across Nottinghamshire.

Chamber President, Kevin Harris, said:

“One of the main privileges of being Chamber President is being able to address and celebrate the crème de la crème of our region’s businesses at the Business Awards.”
