Total Motion welcomes new directors Claire and Jayne to restructured board

Leicester-based vehicle management company Total Motion has restructured its board with the appointments of financial director Claire Timms and operations director Jayne Stansfield.

The new directors join Simon Hill, managing director and the business’s founder, on the board.

Jayne, who previously worked in the fleet industry for an auction house, has been with Total Motion for just over a year. Claire, whose background is in construction, joined the company last October.

Welcoming the new board members, Simon said:

“Appointing Jayne and Claire as directors means our board is now two thirds female-run, reflecting Total Motion’s continued commitment to diversity and gender equality.

“The vehicle leasing sector is traditionally very male dominated, but we go against that trend. Our team, of 116 – made up of employed and self-employed staff – has a ratio of 65% female employees to 35% male staff.

“Building a great team is all about recruiting the right people and we believe women are a driving force in our industry.  We can’t generalise but, in our experience, they are good at multi-tasking, pay close attention to detail and get things done!”

Total Motion, based at Meridian Business Park, has seen profit margin grow by 3% percent and volumes increases by 9% over the past 12 months. It is the largest family run and privately-owned fleet management and leasing provider in the UK, providing complete, bespoke solutions to organisations throughout the UK and Europe, who operate fleets from 30 to in excess of 60,000 vehicles.

The business is directly responsible for more than 25,000 drivers in 14 countries on behalf of more than 4,000 clients. Its fleet management consultancy service supports clients with a combined fleet size in excess of 460,000 vehicles across the world.

The award-winning company has featured for three successive years among the UK’s 1000 Most Dynamic SMEs published by the London Stock Exchange.  Additionally, the company was named 2018 Leicester Mercury Company of the Year in the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

Total Motion is also official vehicle supplier to Premiership rugby club Leicester Tigers.  The business looks after the motoring needs of the club and its supporters – giving Tigers’ fans exclusive access to the Total Motion Affinity Scheme so they can enjoy discounted rates on a wide selection of vehicles. Through its partnership Total Motion supplied the Leicester Tigers Foundation community minibus and the club’s new training equipment and kit van.
