EAST Midlands-based law firm Nelsons has been shortlisted for two national Personal Injury Awards.

Associate and solicitor Dianne Collins has been shortlisted for ‘Claimant Lawyer of the Year’ and the personal injury team as a whole will be hoping  to scoop the prize for ‘Claimant Team of the Year’ at the awards dinner, which takes place in Manchester on 27 November.

Now in its 12th year, the awards celebrate the excellence of individuals, teams and organisations specialising in the personal injury sector.

Lisa Preece, who heads the personal injury team at Nelsons, which has offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, said:

“We’re extremely proud to have been shortlisted in these national awards; indicating the quality of our work and placing us firmly among the best in the sector nationwide.

“Personal injury is a niche and complex area of law, and our work is vital in supporting those who have experienced life-changing injuries. Our claimant team has extensive knowledge, particularly when it comes to advising on specialist areas such as abuse claims, brain and spinal injuries and clinical negligence.

“We’ll have our fingers crossed for a double award win on the night!”

Earlier this year, Dianne won ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in the Derby & District Law Society Awards 2019 and hopes to add another accolade to her collection.

Dianne said:

“Just being shortlisted is a real honour. I look to help my clients by giving them a voice, empowering and enabling them to take back control and move forward with their lives.”

Dianne joined Nelsons’ Derby office in 2012 and is a specialist in historical child abuse claims. Among many other cases, Dianne is currently representing 78 survivors of the Aston Hall abuse scandal.
