DIS partnership celebrates its first sign-up

IT specialists RDS Global have become the first sign-up to Derbyshire Institute of Sport’s supporters club under an innovative partnership with two leading recruitment companies.
Sky Recruitment Solutions and Capella Professional, both run by local entrepreneur David Torrington, sponsor the DIS supporters club and David will pay a 12-month membership of the club for all new clients who use either company to recruit an employee.
DIS relies on its supporters club members and its sponsors to fund the support it provides to Derbyshire youngsters who have the potential to be world class athletes and future Olympians and Paralympians.
Phil Harvey, managing director of RDS Global, was delighted with the service he received when he used David’s companies to recruit a new staff member – and when David told him about the supporters club, it was the icing on the cake.
Phil explained:
“Becoming a member of the DIS supporters club sits very well with what we are all about, because we are investing in the future of our young people on the IT side and DIS is doing the same for young athletes.”
RDS Global runs an academy with Derby College, which was named Employer Academy of the Year earlier this year. Students join RDS Global for a 17-week placement to enhance their studies and gain invaluable experience working in the IT sector. The Derby-based company also has a strong track record in supporting local charities and community groups.
Chloe Maudsley, head of operations for DIS, said:
“We are delighted to welcome RDS Global into our family of supporters. We always encourage our athletes to look at the educational route and think about career options so they are prepared for life when their time as an elite athlete ends, so there’s a great synergy for us in working with David’s companies and now with RDS Global.”
David added:
“The other thing we have in common is our pride in Derbyshire and our goal to be the best in our sectors. Lots of businesses are recruiting out there and we want them to know that they can gain this extra advantage when they use our companies. RDS Global is just the first of many businesses to join the DIS supporters club in this way.”
Members of the supporters club receive a number of benefits including: their name or business logo on the supporters club page of the DIS website; an invitation to meet and network with other supporters, sponsors and some of the DIS coaches and athletes at monthly CONNECT social evenings; a shout-out on DIS social media channels and an exclusive email footer and thank you certificate.
