Five new arrivals at Actons

Five new arrivals at Actons

Actons, the leading independent law firm in Nottingham, has made several new appointments following the recent promotion of two directors, as it continues its growth strategy.

Harry Georgiou who has recently completed his training contract with the firm, takes up a new role in the dispute resolution team focussing on commercial disputes.

Employment lawyer Amita Chauhan joins the firms’ employment law team which, now five-strong, is one of the largest dedicated employment teams based in the city.

Newly qualified solicitor Alastair Rose has joined Actons corporate & commercial team after completing his training contract at another LawNet member firm, increasing the team to six.

The firm has also welcomed its intake of new trainee solicitors in Waleed Tariq and Jess Park. Waleed has joined following nearly two years working with Gowling WLG in Birmingham and undertakes his first training seat in the personal injury team. Jess returns to Actons having completed a year’s legal placement with the firm in 2015 and re-starts her Actons journey in the property team.

Simon Dakin, Director and Chairman at Actons said:

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Harry, Amita and Alastair as solicitors, and  Waleed and Jess as trainee solicitors.“

“All of them have shown good character and a high level of ability to reach this stage, and we now hope that they apply these qualities in building successful long term careers with the firm.”

“The firm has an excellent track record for developing and retaining talented young lawyers who go on to play a significant part in the firm – my fellow directors, Nicky Calthrop-Owen, who joined us on a work placement, and Tom Payne, who joined us twenty five years ago as a trainee, both being great examples!”

These new additions follow on from the firm’s recent announcement that property lawyer Zoe Romain and employment lawyer James Symons had been promoted to Director.
