Speaker and charity announced for fbe East Midlands Awards 2019

The organisers of the fbe East Midlands Awards have unveiled the speaker for this year’s ceremony, along with the charity that will be supported by the event.

Actor, musician, weather presenter and coach Des Coleman is to speak at the Chairman’s Awards Dinner, which is being held at the Albert Hall in Nottingham on 24th October 2019.

Nottingham-based charity, Footprints Conductive Education Centre, has been chosen as this year’s good cause. Footprints is dedicated to helping children with motor learning difficulties or motor development delay and supporting their families.

TV presenter Des is a long-term supporter of the Footprints charity. He said:

“What inspires me is that every day each of the children overcomes tremendous obstacles, learning to do things most of us take for granted – they don’t realise it, though; to them, it’s all fun! And their parents are helped too, which is important. I am fully behind the service, and I want more people to know about the amazing work they do here in Nottingham.”

The black-tie event is an annual favourite on the calendar of the East Midlands construction, property and development sector – presenting awards for non-residential, regeneration, residential and Rising Star categories.

Regional chairman of the fbe East Midlands Emma Atkins said:

“The fbe East Midlands Awards recognise and reward some of the best construction and development projects in the East Midlands, along with some of the industry’s brightest young stars.

“We’re very pleased that Des Coleman, an engaging speaker and well-known face in the East Midlands, is joining us for our event, when we look forward to hearing more about some of the region’s latest construction projects and also raising money for an excellent local charity.”

Nominations for the awards, open to projects and individuals from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire, have now closed.

Nottingham-based building solutions company J Tomlinson has sponsored the Rising Star Award. For details of the remaining sponsorship opportunities, please contact emma.atkins@pulseconsult.co.uk.

The Chairman’s Awards Dinner will take place at the Albert Hall, North Circus Street, Nottingham, on Thursday 24th October 2019 from 7pm.

Tickets for the black-tie event are £55 for members, £80 for non-members and £750 for a table of ten.
