New Derby loyalty scheme for Independents

Unique Derby loyalty scheme for independents

Staff at 11 Derby companies are to benefit from a unique loyalty card scheme for independent businesses.

The INDE card will offer discounts to those who work at organisations as diverse as Smith Partnership solicitors and The Dandy Gent barber shop to try to ensure the future of a diverse, vibrant, and sustainable high street.

Among others taking part are popular food and drink outlet BEAR on Iron Gate, Bustler Market in John Street and Elements Tea and Coffee House in Victoria Street.

Gift shop Fraiche on The Strand is also signed up as is Derby Quad, The Smallprint Company on Friary Street, Doughnotts on Sadler Gate, The Palfrey restaurant in Old Blacksmiths Yard and Derby County Community Trust which helps improve the lives of many people in the community.

INDE was the concept of Smith Partnership’s Business Development Executive, Tom Erskine.

Tom said:

“Smith Partnership is an established independent law firm which showed its commitment to Derby city centre last year by investing in a new headquarters on Friar Gate.

“We believe that a city centre, populated by thriving businesses is essential for the future success of Derby and that is why we are so keen to support other independent companies and organisations.

“The INDE loyalty card scheme means that our respective employees will be encouraged to support each other while, of course, being given some great offers.

“We would be delighted if others in Derby city centre joined us and we could make this one of the most successful networks of its kind in the country.”

Hattie Shaw, Marketing Manager of BEAR, said:

“Derby has an incredibly tight-knit and welcoming community of independent businesses; a community that we are immensely proud to be a part of.

Dr Alex Rock, Head of Technical and Commercial services at QUAD, added: “INDE is a superb example of Derby’s business community coming together to support the very best that the city has to offer.

“There’s a strong sense of collaboration and togetherness within Derby’s business community, and we are proud to support brilliant initiatives such as INDE. Long may this spirit of innovation continue.”

Andy Darke, Events Manager at Bustler Market, said:

“We didn’t hesitate when asked to be involved with INDE as it supports two things that are pivotal to Bustler Market; being local and independent. The more businesses involved means more support for local, independent business.”

And Megan Patrick, Marketing and Communications Manager with Derby County Community Trust said:

“We wanted to be involved with the INDE scheme to showcase to other businesses and charities that the way we can work together and complement one another’s provision isn’t always obvious but can be extremely effective.”
