Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

The events will take place in the morning on the following dates:
The practical and interactive hour-long sessions will cover topics including resolving disputes between business owners, as well as touching on getting business affairs in order, and making lasting powers of attorney (LPAs).
Chris Adams, partner and solicitor in Nelsons’ commercial disputes department, will lead the discussion and will be joined by his colleagues from both the corporate, and wills and probate teams.
Chris said:
“Resolving disputes between business owners can be a complicated matter, as can ensuring clients have up to date wills and LPAs in place. In certain cases, if a client doesn’t have an LPA this could leave them without anyone to make decisions regarding their medical treatment or financial affairs until a court of protection order has been obtained.
“Dealing with the court is a lengthy and expensive process with many straightforward applications taking at least nine months to be issued. We can provide accountants with the information they need to alert their clients to this issue and advise on how it can easily be avoided.
“Our discussion forums give local accountancy professionals the chance to gain expert opinions on these topics in a relaxed setting and network with other like-minded individuals. The forum will be informative and of particular interest to accountants who advise families and owner-managed businesses.”
The seminars are free to attend but places are limited. To register your attendance, please email Anne-Marie.Martin@nelsonslaw.co.uk or call 0800 024 1976. Registration and refreshments will take place from 8.30am, with the discussion forum commencing at 9am and expecting to finish at around 10.30am.
