Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

New business centre officially named

A new office development which will help expanding businesses develop and prosper has been officially named.

The project, originally given the working title ‘Grow on Space’ was funded by Harborough District Council with support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP).

Construction of the new offices, in partnership with Willmott Dixon, started in 2018 and was prompted by a strong requirement for growing SME, (Small to Medium Enterprise) businesses looking for commercial space to expand and who wanted to stay within Harborough District.

The Harborough Grow on Centre, (HGOC), based at Compass Point Business Park, off Northampton Road in Market Harborough, is expected to create 230 jobs and bring £20million into the District economy.

Cllr James Hallam of Harborough District Council, portfolio holder for Strategic Assets and HGOC, Said

“Having an innovative commercial business facility like this is a great boost for Harborough District’s economy and it will provide opportunity for businesses to grow and prosper.”

Cllr Phil King, Leader of the Council, said:

“The name has been chosen to reflect the growth of business within Harborough District. We are looking forward to welcoming companies and supporting them as they grow and develop.”

HGOC follows the success of the Harborough Innovation Centre, which Harborough District Council developed and opened in 2011, to provide office space for start-up and new businesses.
