Lender strengthens Midlands team

Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance has bolstered its team in the Midlands, with the appointment of Matt Broomfield as Regional Sales Director.

Matt has 13 years’ experience in the business lending market, having previously worked within the asset-based lending departments of major UK banks such as RBS and HSBC. He has developed a wealth of knowledge of the Midlands market specifically, where he has been based throughout his career.

In his role at Secure Trust Bank, Matt will be working alongside accountants and business advisors to support SMEs seeking asset-based lending solutions between £1m and £50m. Typical scenarios will include service-led refinances, private equity transactions, restructures and turnaround, as well as growth opportunities. Matt will join the Midlands-based team, which is headed by Regional Managing Director, David Parsons.

Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance’s lending balances have been growing rapidly in recent years. The firm has provided £220.7m worth of funding to UK businesses as of 30 June 2019.

On his appointment, Matt said:

“With Secure Trust Bank’s ability to provide greater flexibility than some of the traditional high street lenders, I am excited to offer a wider range of funding opportunities to Midlands-based businesses. I’m looking forward to joining an experienced and skilled team, working with aspiring businesses in the region to support their expansion plans.”

David Parsons, Regional Managing Director at Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance, said:

“Having opened a new office in Birmingham last year, we have noticed an increased demand for our services in the Midlands region, as evidenced by growing our lending balances over the first half of the year. With the addition of Matt, we have a number of experienced Sales Directors on the ground in the region, and are confident that we are well positioned to ramp up our lending activity during the remainder of the year and beyond.”
