Royston & Lund celebrate 25 years in business

25 years ago, in 1994, John Major was prime minister, Forrest Gump was the biggest blockbuster and Wet Wet Wet were the nations favourite with number one hit ‘Love is all around’.

It was also the year that award-winning estate agent and property specialist Royston & Lund was founded by ex-Notts County footballer Gary Lund who teamed up with local estate agents Chris Royston and Liaqat Ali, to create an agency which provided friendly, knowledgeable and professional advice to customers south of the river.

The business was established when Gary approached Chris and Liaqat with the idea of creating a new West Bridgford agency. Gary was keen to forge a future career in property after his retirement from professional football and Chris and Liaqat also wanted to set up their own business after growing to love the area, whilst employed at Woolwich Property Services.

Gary, director of Royston & Lund, said:

“When we first began, we wanted to open in a prime location covering West Bridgford and the surrounding areas. Chris and Liaqat had worked there for more than five years and had already forged a name for providing an excellent service based on sound local market knowledge.

“I can’t quite believe it’s been 25 years, we started out small, but we have since grown our team and our business. We now have two offices in West Bridgford and Keyworth, with more than 30 staff and have been recognised as one of the best estate agents in the area.”

Royston & Lund takes pride in offering excellent customer service, adaptability to meet market changes and the business has gained a desirable reputation as an agent which always achieves a fair asking price for the properties which it markets.  

Gary added:

“I am so immensely proud of the team’s hard work throughout the years, we have managed to maintain an excellent rapport within West Bridgford and further afield. We look forward to continuing to offer our customers, whether buying or letting, great advice."

On the official launch day, 14 July 1994, Royston & Lund had seven properties for sale and aimed to continue its successful start, the team has gone from strength to strength since, having won several awards such as Best Estate Agent in the UK 2018 and Best Small Lettings 2019 in the East Midlands.

Royston & Lund is also the number one agent in the area for sales agreed and properties let this year as reported by Rightmove.
