Macildowie appoints Head of Talent

Midlands-based recruitment consultancy, Macildowie, has welcomed a new head of talent to its Nottingham headquarters.

Sarah-Louise Bussey returns to the company following a five-year spell as recruitment manager with national retailer Next, having previously spent ten years working at Macildowie’s Leicester office.

The appointment is part of Macildowie’s continued growth plans, with Sarah-Louise heading up the learning and development programme, aiming to refine the process of hiring, developing and retaining talent on offer across all divisions.

Explaining the significance of Sarah-Louise’s return, chief executive officer at Macildowie, James Taylor, said:

“For a whole decade, Sarah-Louise demonstrated an outstanding ability for identifying and supporting talent, and I’m delighted to see her return to the Macildowie team, re-affirming our commitment that employees are the cornerstone of our business.

“Sarah-Louise’s return is testament to the business’ success, and a fundamental part of that success has come from our experienced and knowledgeable team working tirelessly to build a company we are all proud to be a part of.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how Sarah-Louise thrives in the new office, as our plans for growth continue. It’s a pleasure to have her back in the Macildowie ‘nest’ – here’s to the next ten years.”

Commenting on her return, Sarah-Louise, added:

“I’m delighted to be back in the Macildowie office, particularly as I have such fond memories of my time with the company. I gained so many valuable skills that opened up some fantastic opportunities, both in my career and personal life.

“Very much at the heart of Macildowie, is James Taylor, who throughout my time away from Macildowie, continued to keep in touch. I was delighted to hear about the current team, recent success in prestigious awards and ambitious plans for the future. It became too good an opportunity to pass up. I’m excited to see how my role will benefit the team around me, and the overall success of the business.”

Sarah-Louise joins the company at an exciting time, as for a sixth time running, Macildowie has been included in The Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For in 2019, coming in 23rd in the prestigious rankings. It also took home third place in the Midlands Best Companies to Work For, among a 75-strong list.

Macildowie operates across the Midlands and recently appointed industry heavyweight, John O’Sullivan, to its ranks, bringing with him over 30 years’ experience.
