Castle Donington RUFC Scores Miller Homes Sponsorship

A Castle Donington-based rugby team has secured a try-winning sponsorship from housebuilder, Miller Homes Midlands.

The housebuilder, which recently launched its Charters Gate neighbourhood, has donated over £1,500 to Castle Donington Rugby Union Football Club to help kit-out its 25-strong senior team with shirts for the 2019/2020 competitive season.

The shirts were unveiled at the nearby Spital Park in the town on Sunday 7 July, during the annual Music in the Park event. In front of thousands of residents and local businesses, the team put their new kits to the test, by taking part in a selection of friendly touch rugby matches.

Charters Gate sales advisors, Belinda Kinch and Alex Anslow were also on hand to officially present the new kit to team fixture secretary, Craig Culshaw.

Commenting on the partnership, Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“I think I speak for the whole Miller Homes team when I say how thrilled we are with this partnership, especially as the club has played such an important role in the community since 1989. We’re proud to be able to sponsor the entire senior team, as they rise through the ranks in their upcoming season, which kicks off in September.

“We’re always eager to show our support for local groups and clubs that surround the neighbourhoods where we build. At Miller Homes, our main focus is building strong communities, and that not only involves making quality homes, but also ensuring there are outstanding leisure facilities, amenities and outdoor spaces for residents, now and in the future, to enjoy.”

The new Charters Gate development is less than a five-minute drive from Spital Park where the club, and its seven teams play.

Craig from club added:

“The support Miller Homes has provided to our senior team is incredibly valuable, to boost our chance of success in the league. The partnership will help to raise our profile, demonstrating our passion for the sport, community and its residents.”

With a selection of two to five-bedroom homes from £187,000, Charters Gate is suited for a range of househunters, from first-time buyers to upsizers looking for a new space to start a family.

This year, Miller Homes also proved its commitment to customer satisfaction after it was awarded a five star rating in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) National New Home Customer Satisfaction survey for another year.
