Champions announces cricket club sponsorship deal

Leading brand agency Champions (UK) plc and Derbyshire County Cricket Club are celebrating the signing of a new partnership agreement.

The deal will see Champions become a sponsor of the cricket club and have its branding on signage around the pitch at Derbyshire’s home, the Pattonair County Ground.

The arrangement also means that the club will become a sponsor of the Derby Telegraph Sports Awards - run in conjunction with Champions - for 2019 and 2020.

Steve Hall, Communications Director at Champions, said the company was delighted to be teaming up with DCCC.

“Champions is a big supporter of sport and business in the East Midlands and this arrangement underscores our commitment to both,” he said.

“The cricket club has big ambitions on and off the pitch and we are pleased to be able to support its continued development.”

The deal is the latest highlight in an exciting year for Champions. The firm, which is based at Costock, near Loughborough, has secured a number of high-profile client wins, created new jobs and spent £1 million on developing a new digital media hub.

Ryan Duckett, Chief Executive at DCCC, said:

"The Champions agreement was more good news for a club which was investing in its playing staff, developing its ground and further strengthening ties with its local community.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Champions and we look forward to developing this relationship over the next few years.

"The support we have had from the business community across the region has been fantastic as we look to grow the Pattonair County Ground as a 365-day-a-year events venue and achieve success on the field."
