Lincolnshire legal staff focus on fundraising for animal charity

Staff at a leading firm of Lincolnshire solicitors snapped up the chance to focus on their photography skills and raise money for charity.

More than 60 employees at Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management, which has eight branches across the county and in Newark, paid £2 to enter the in-house photographic competition in aid of the firm’s chosen charity of the year, the RSPCA.

Entrants were asked to focus on a Spring theme and not to include any people in their shots. Staff were then invited to cast an anonymous vote for their favourite image.

Chief Executive Officer, Edward Conway’s close-up shot of a cow he took on his phone received the most votes.

He said:

“The photography competition provided a wonderful opportunity for members of staff to show off their creative talents and have a bit of fun at the same time as raising money for the RSPCA.

“Some stunning entries were submitted and I was delighted that my cow photo received the most votes. We’re always looking at new ways to raise funds for our chosen charity and we were delighted to have raised nearly £150 on this occasion.”

ICT Developer, Liam Overton’s shot of some lambs came in second place and Partner and Commercial Solicitor at the firm’s Boston office, Katherine Bunting’s snap of a bumble bee came joint third with Lincoln-based Paralegal, Vickie Allan’s image of a squirrel.

The competition was one of many events taking place this year in aid of the RSPCA, including a sponsored walk in September along the length of the Boston to Lincoln Water Rail Way between two of the firm’s offices.
