Reds + Meds! Nottingham company 'backs' Forest shirt deal

Nottingham family business UK Meds is to sponsor Nottingham Forest’s new season back-of-shirt and training wear, it has been announced.

In a partnership which represents the biggest deal in the club’s history for a partnership of this kind, the UK Meds brand will appear on the back of all adult replica shirts and first-team shirts, as well as on first team training wear.

It is a dream come true for Joe and Mason Soiza who founded leading online pharmacy UK Meds three years ago. As a lifelong Forest fan, Joe is also a successful, retired kids’ football coach and manager with Clifton All Whites FC. He raised his three sons to love football just as much as he does.

Joe, originally from Clifton, said:

“I am a reds fan through and through and this is really exciting for me personally, and also for UK Meds which is a proud Nottingham company. I am delighted to bring together my two passions by uniting Nottingham Forest and UK Meds for the upcoming season.

“It is important for Forest and the community that the club receives local sponsorship from local organisations and it was something we really wanted to be part of.

“My family and I have been longstanding fans of the club and season ticket holders. UK Meds is a big supporter of everything that Forest does and we are really proud to support the club we love. It will be great to keep the volume up around the stand this year!”

UK Meds’ branding will also appear around The City Ground, on LED advertising boards and static signage across the Main Stand and Trent End.

Regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), UK Meds use a number of highly qualified, UK-based independent prescribers to write its prescriptions which are dispensed from its Nottingham-based pharmacy. TV’s Dr Christian features on the UK Meds website and contributes to the company’s blog posts.

As a pioneering and rapidly growing Nottingham-based business, UK Meds is one of the UK’s leading reputable online pharmacies which is using the latest technology for the provision of healthcare products and in a responsible way.

The 20-strong team includes and highly-experienced pharmacists who follow stringent safeguarding processes.

Within the last three years, UK Meds has significantly invested in new technology and systems which have strengthened the safety measures surrounding the purchasing of medicines online.

“We are proud of the business that we have built and knowing how many people we help, we’re excited about the nationwide exposure and brand awareness that this Forest partnership could bring,” added Joe.

“As a provider of healthcare ranges including hayfever products, supplements and products to help people stop smoking, we felt our business was a good fit with Forest.

“We are looking forward to a strong partnership with Forest and plan to work closely with the community initiatives they are involved in.”

David Cook, Forest’s chief commercial officer, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with UK Meds ahead of the 2019-20 season and look forward to working closely alongside them. We are eager to work hard in helping them engage with a nationwide audience but also offer Forest fans some exciting money-can’t-buy experiences.

“UK Meds is a successful Nottingham-based company with large-scale ambitions and, as a club, we are always keen to be a champion for local companies and are therefore excited to support them achieve these goals.

“From our first meeting with Joe and Mason Soiza and the team at UK Meds, their passion for Forest was clear and we are thrilled to forge this partnership with an organisation who also have the wellbeing of the community in Nottingham in its DNA.

“This deal also represents a strong and continued upward curve in the commercial success of the club and we are proud to be building a strong family of commercial partners, with the club-record announcements of Football Index and Macron in recent seasons.”
