Father and son earn respected Pride in the Job awards as Site Managers for the second year running

Two Site Managers, a father and son based at local housebuilder Barratt Homes North Midlands’ developments in Nottinghamshire have each been awarded the top prize in a national competition amongst the best of the best in the housebuilding industry.

Mark (53) and Liam (29) Pettet have earned official recognition with Pride in the Job Quality awards from the National House Building Council (NHBC). Such an accolade is the highest industry award a Site Manager can achieve, identifying the best-run sites in the country.

Mark has worked at the nearly sold out Maple Gardens development in Mansfield Woodhouse for three years and this is his third successive Pride in the Job Quality award.

He said: “To be given this award for the third year running is amazing and it’s not only a great achievement for myself, but my team at Maple Gardens too.

“I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work and commitment and this official recognition is a credit to them.

“Maple Gardens has been very popular since we first began construction in 2016 and it’s fantastic to see how much it has progressed since then.”

In total this year, Barratt Homes North Midlands had six Site Managers win Pride in the Job Quality awards.

Claiming his second Pride in the Job Quality award is Liam, who has been with Barratt Homes for five years and is based at Gateford Park in Worksop.

He said: “I’m lost for words really. It’s a fantastic achievement and I’m elated with what we’ve accomplished at Gateford Park.

“We’ve all worked so hard and I am just as delighted as last year, to win another award is incredible.

“This wouldn’t have been possible without my team and I’d like to thank the company for all of its support.”

In total this year, parent company Barratt Developments has won 84 awards, which is more than any other housebuilder. This is now the 15th year in a row where the developer has won more Pride in the Job awards than every other housebuilder, making it the clear industry leader in site management.

Each year, more than 16,000 Site Managers enter the competition and are judged against strict evaluation criteria, with just 450 individual winners then being chosen. Every winner has been rigorously assessed during the past twelve months across 37 areas, including their technical knowledge, quality controls, consistency, health and safety and customer service.

These awards closely follow Barratt Homes North Midlands receiving five stars in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) survey for customer satisfaction for the tenth year in a row.

Chris Southgate, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said:

“We would like to commend our Site Managers Mark and Liam on their latest accomplishments and thank them for their continued dedication to Maple Gardens and Gateford Park.

“These awards demonstrate that our Site Managers are building some of the best quality homes in the country. Customers who buy a property on a Pride in the Job winning site are benefiting from a really high quality home.

“By once again winning more of these awards than any other housebuilder it shows the commitment we have made to excellence in construction and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.”
