Developer crowned champion in chari-tee golf tournament for Sutton-in-Ashfield hospice

A team of golfing fanatics from Harron Homes North Midlands have emerged victorious in a charity tournament “putt” together to raise funds for a Sutton-in-Ashfield-based hospice.

The contest, which took place at Rufford Park Golf and Country Club, saw more than 60 suppliers, sub-contractors and Harron employees teeing off in support of John Eastwood Hospice Trust, an organisation that provides palliative care to people living in and around the Nottinghamshire town.

Despite a fundraising target of £500 having been set, more than £1,200 was raised through the event, which also included a raffle that supply chain “par”-tners donated prizes to.

Harron’s team of “fore”, comprising Contracts Manager Andrew Hall, Regional Managing Director Ian Pendlebury, Technical Director John Booth and Planning Manager Mark Beevers, were named the winners and presented with vouchers for the club’s shop, which were auctioned off to help boost the funds raised for the charity.

Opened in 1991, John Eastwood Hospice Trust works to support its NHS partners by overseeing the development and improvement of the existing facilities used by its patients, and maintains funds for its on-going commitments and capital expenditures.

Diane Humphreys, Hospice Trust Manager for John Eastwood Hospice, said:

“We are really grateful for the wonderful support from the team at Harron Homes, and are delighted that their fundraising efforts on our behalf were so well rewarded.

“Over £1,200 is a terrific boost to our funds, especially as we are currently planning a major refurbishment.”

“Being one of the organisers of the tournament, I decided that I wanted to support John Eastwood Hospice because of the end-of-life care that both my parents received there,” Andrew explains.

“The event also gave us the opportunity to strengthen relationships with our supply chain, and a fantastic time was had by all who took part.”

Harron is preparing to launch its much-anticipated Brierley Heath development in Sutton-in-Ashfield during the autumn, providing a stunning range of 172 two, three and four-bedroom homes for property seekers in the area.

In addition to this, the housebuilder is set to contribute more than £1.5 million towards improving the services and facilities available to people in the local community.

Brierley Heath is located off Brand Lane, Stanton Hill, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Skegby, NG17 3GH.
