Golden moment as Dains Accountants wins top award from Investors in People

Dains Accountants has been awarded the prestigious Gold award from Investors in People.

The firm, which has offices in Birmingham, Burton, Derby, Lichfield and Stoke on Trent, scooped the gong, which is achieved by only 18% of organisations in the UK and recognises companies which strive for the best possible standards in people and management, and which support and nurture talent, and encourage personal development.

Dains received the IIP Gold award after following a rigorous assessment process. This in-depth appraisal measured the business against the standard, identifying its strengths and areas for development and keeping the company on track to be amongst the best in its industry.

The firm was handed the award on the back of strong feedback from employees who were surveyed and interviewed during the accreditation process.

Angela Millward, Head of Human Resources, said:

“We are proud members of Investors in People, so to be awarded Gold Standard is a major moment for all involved in at Dains.

“We have worked really hard to ensure that our employees are engaged and to make sure that we offer a wide range of benefits for all.

“We were reassessed by Investors in People and all of our employees were asked to complete an online survey. Then a select group were handpicked by the Investors in People for face to face interviews. We were so pleased that because of the great feedback from our own staff we were handed this great accolade.

“It is a great sense of achievement and it feels wonderful to know the changes we have made have had an impact for all of our employees and has made a difference to not just their work but their lives as a whole.

“Our whole ethos here is that we don’t want people to come and work for us for the job or the role, we want people to come and work for Dains as it is a great place to work with an equally great role on offer.

“We will continue to work hard to make sure we maintain and exceed the Gold Standard we have been awarded by Investors in People.”

Dains held a special celebration event at the Bank restaurant, in Birmingham, for staff to mark the announcement of the accolade.

Richard McNeilly, Managing Partner of Dains, said:

“We are all absolutely delighted to have been recognised by Investors of People and handed the Gold award.

“This is a great reflection of all the hard work put in by our staff and of the positive working environment we instil here at Dains.”
