Wilson Vale is counting down to the Catey Awards

Andrew Wilson and Carolyne Vale, co-founders of Ashby-based Wilson Vale, have been shortlisted under the Foodservice Caterer Award category of the 36th Catey Awards.

The Cateys, held in partnership with Bunzl Catering and Hospitality Division, and deemed ‘the Oscars’ of the hospitality sector, recognise the best and brightest individuals and brands in the hospitality industry.

The finalists and winners are decided by industry judges chosen for their expertise and industry knowledge, making the Cateys the ultimate accolade in peer group recognition.

The winners will be revealed on 2nd July at London’s Grosvenor House.

The Ashby-based independent catering company has quietly established itself as a quality, niche player by taking a different approach to the larger contractors and multinationals who dominate the UK foodservice sector.

Organic growth and an emphasis on craft skills and strong relationships continue to reap benefits for the company which is projecting a £35.5m turnover for 2019.

Andrew Wilson said:

“One of the benefits of being independent is that we can do things the ‘Wilson Vale’ way so it is great to get this recognition of our work and values from the wider industry.

“It’s absolutely not in our nature to seek the limelight but I think this is a very positive recognition of our careful, operational focus and approach over the last 17 years. This shortlisting is testimony to the skills, commitment and dedication of our 760 staff who work tirelessly day-in, day-out, to set and maintain our food and service quality standards.”
