FRP Advisory boosts Leicester corporate finance team

Specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory LLP has strengthened its corporate finance team in the Midlands with two new appointments, following a year of record growth.

Daniel Chouciño and Fahim Kassam join as assistant manager and manager respectively, and they will work closely with the 5 strong team of corporate finance specialists who are responsible for identifying opportunities and supporting businesses across the region.

Daniel joins from Translink Corporate Finance, where he was an assistant director, and he will be based in the firm’s Leicester office where he will work closely with director Harry Walker.

Fahim joins from Alantra, where he was an associate, and he will be based in the firm’s Birmingham office where he will work alongside director Colin Strevens.

As specialists in M&A activity they bring a breadth of experience, having previously supported businesses across the aerospace, engineering, food & beverage and healthcare sectors amongst others, and will work closely with the team as they help owner-managed and private equity-backed clients across the region to implement their strategic growth plans.

The appointments follow a strong 12 months for the corporate finance team nationally having advised on around 35 assignments across the UK. This includes those led out of the Midlands, such as the team’s support of Sweden-based FM Mattsson Mora Group AB, a supplier of kitchen and bathroom taps in the Scandinavian market, on its £15.6m acquisition of Netherlands-headquartered Hot Bath BV. Other deals include the sale of a hospitality business and advice on the management buyout of a consumer products business.

Harry Walker, corporate finance director at FRP Advisory in Leicester, said:

“It’s an exciting time for our growing corporate finance team. We’re continually growing and strengthening our capabilities in response to the opportunities across the region and the current M&A environment, where we see continued demand from UK and international buyers, as well as investors and lenders.

“Fahim and Daniel’s appointments reflect our dedication to supporting the local market and building a high-quality team in the Midlands as well as our continued investment in the firm’s national corporate finance offering.”

FRP Advisory now employs more than 340 people across the UK, including its offices in Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester. It provides clients with the full suite of business advisory services including corporate restructuring, corporate finance, forensic services, pensions advisory and debt funding.
