QDTS Construction uncover huge archaeological find in Little Kineton during £2.3million development

The main contractors appointed for a luxury housing development have uncovered a huge historical and archaeological find.

For QDTS Construction, their job was to build nine luxury properties with Blewbury Homes in Little Kineton and it’s thanks to them that this discovery has been made.

Little Kineton in Stratford Upon Avon has a lot of historical significance and is even mentioned in the Doomsday book. Although the site was of importance to the local authority’s archaeologist department the discovery was made in the first few days of the project, bringing all work to a standstill until the archaeologists could attend site and undertake investigation work.  The Archaeological team uncovered 13th Century Houses with 15th Century homes on top and in the next field what looked like banqueting hall.

Despite this stalling the project, it was still completed in just 52 weeks. As the development is within the Warwickshire Countryside, the design of the properties was kept traditional, with English thatched roofs, in keeping with the historical surroundings. However, once you step inside the homes you will see that they contain a high-spec modern finish, built in mind for the perfect modern living space. This housing development, consisting of 9 homes, is now collectively worth £2.3 Million.

As the village of Little Kineton is very small, it was important that the team from QDTS were considerate towards the local residents with regards to noise pollution and general disruption. It seemed that the team got on well with the community and even saw them donating prizes to Little Kineton’s sports club Christmas raffle.

Terry Benson, the Managing Director at QDTS has said:

“I am so proud of our team for completing this project to such high standards and in such good time. It’s been absolutely brilliant to be involved with such a unique development of homes in the village of Little Kineton."
