UK Pasta Manufacturer tells growth story since Rank Hovis McDougall buy-out

The owners and directors of food and agri businesses will have the opportunity to hear how the only scale manufacturer of pasta in the UK has grown and developed since it was bought from Rank Hovis & McDougall.

Simon Webber (Chairman) and Gordon Chetwood (Managing Director) of Pasta Foods Ltd and Snack Creations Ltd, are to be the guest speakers at the next Saffery Champness food & agri forum which is being held on Tuesday 11 June at The George Hotel in Stamford.

The forums are a regular event organised by Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers Saffery Champness to encourage leaders in the food and agri sector to share knowledge and experience. This event will also be co-hosted by Roythornes Solicitors and insurance and risk management advisers Marsh.

Pasta Foods was bought from Ranks Hovis McDougall by Simon and two other investors in 2003. They invested over £12 million in 2014-15 into a new factory and production line which proved challenging.

Gordon Chetwood was brought in to make the group profitable and is now leading another £6 million UK investment in the face of Brexit.  Snack Creations Ltd, which makes pellets made from lentil, chickpea, pea, corn and potatoes, is a new snack division spun out of Pasta Foods which has been created to take advantage of growing opportunities in this market.
