Local Derby Bright & Beautiful turned London pink by taking part in the MoonWalk

Last weekend, as the sun went down on the capital, Derby-based franchise owner, Toni Hibbert of Bright & Beautiful, took to the streets to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

The disco-themed Moonwalk challenge saw thousands of women and men wear brightly decorated bras, including Toni Hibbert who power walked 15 miles through the streets of London at night.   Together they walked past iconic London landmarks, including the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben and Battersea Power Station, which turned pink for the occasion.

The journey began months before race day when Toni set about training and fundraising for Breast Cancer.  Her ten trusted housekeepers and customers were hugely supportive of the walk and sponsored Toni, along with family and friends.

Feeling elated and exhausted having completed the MoonWalk, Toni Hibbert commented:

“This has been an extraordinary achievement and I enjoyed every step of the way.  It was fantastic to see everyone getting into the groove with all things disco – it was without doubt a bright, sparkly and fun power walk!  A number of close friends and family have been affected by breast cancer in recent years, so I wanted to fundraise for this cause and the MoonWalk seemed a great way of doing something wonderful for others, whilst improving your own health.  I would like to thank everyone who kindly sponsored me and for supporting me through this incredibly inspiring and empowering experience.”

Founder of Walk the Walk, and organiser of The MoonWalk London, Nina Barough CBE, said:

“Every MoonWalk is not just a walk. It is an experience that has been exciting and enthusing people for years and it just keeps getting better and achieving more.  I never cease to be amazed by the thousands of inspirational walkers, women, men and our younger walkers, that come together with the united aim of wanting to see everyone have a life after breast cancer.”

Toni launched her Bright & Beautiful business just over a year ago and now employs ten professional housekeepers from the local Derbyshire area, providing a service that offers eco-friendly cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing to a consistently high standard to busy working professional homeowners.
