A concept artist has been sharing his expertise with creative media students at West Nottinghamshire College’s Derby Road-based design studios.

Aiden Wilson, of Nottingham-based company, Brainbug Ltd met with creative media students on both the diploma and HND courses, to look at their own concept design ideas and talk about the software and technology they use in their studies.

Aiden’s company, which was established in 2018, specialises in designing concept artwork and illustrations for video games which will eventually branch out into television, movies and board games.

Students took the opportunity on Wednesday (24 April) to show Aiden their latest concept work and ask him questions about this area of the creative sector and seek his advice on current and emerging themes as well as get insights into the latest digital software.

Aiden said:

“I’ve never been to this college before but I’ve always heard great things about its creative media curriculum and I’m hugely impressed. Students have access to great resources in this centre where they can nurture their new artistic skills.

“I’m very keen to see where all these students go on to work as they’re showing lots of potential to master their art. I’ve seen some very creative ideas, strong personalities, and I’ve enjoyed seeing what they’re all up to.”

Student Jakub Klich, 20, said:

“Meeting Aiden has helped to show me how to get into the sector. It was great to talk to someone who is in same industry as I’d like to be in and he’s got lots of experience working with so many people.”
