Treetops Hospice Care Starlight Strut brings fundraising fun to intu Derby

Friends, families, and fitness fanatics of Derbyshire are invited to join intu Derby to strut their stuff across the city to raise funds for Treetops Hospice Care at this year’s Starlight Strut.

The centre has announced it will be one of the lead sponsors for this year’s charity walk, which will see women, men and children of all ages take on a 5k or 10k sponsored stroll throughout the night.

Taking place on Friday 17 May, participants will don their best and brightest fancy dress outfits for this year’s theme, ‘Street Carnival,’ taking to the streets in their most fabulous feathers, glitter and gems.

All entrants will also receive a special Starlight Strut t-shirt to wear, and finishers medal when they cross the finishing line.

As well as sponsoring this year’s event, intu Derby will also show its support with several staff members and store teams taking part in the walk itself, as well as donating fantastic prizes to raffles and staff volunteering on the night.

Now in its tenth year, registration will begin at intu Derby at 6pm, before fundraisers head off to complete the city-wide course at 9pm.

Carly Salisbury, marketing manager at intu Derby, said:

“We are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Starlight Strut, and are honoured to be able to kick off the walk across the city from the centre.

“We’re dedicated to supporting a variety of local causes throughout the year, and we know that the people of Derbyshire are just as passionate about fundraising for organisations like Treetops Hospice Care as we are. We’re also incredibly proud that so many of our staff and retailers are getting behind the event, volunteering their time, and even taking in the walk itself.

“Whether you are walking in memory of a loved one, for fitness, or simply for fun, it’s a fantastic way to support a worthy local charity, and is sure to be an unmissable and memorable evening,” she added.

To take part, members of the public can register online for just £10 per person.
