Baxter Freight boosts team with six new starters

Nottingham-based logistics firm Baxter Freight has appointed six new starters to strengthen its team and support its long-term strategy for growth.

Shella Galminaite, Amiel King and Nuno Santos have joined the customer service-driven logistics provider as account managers, Ryenne Riveral and Rachael Burdis as trainee finance administrators while Mick Glenny has taken on the role of domestic operator.

Baxter Freight, which has its head office in Lenton, was set up in 2014 and now employs more than 70 people. It operates daily services covering all the main commercial centres in continental Europe and the Nordic region, as well as thriving domestic and overseas divisions.

Lorraine Sutcliffe, HR manager at Baxter Freight, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Shella, Amiel, Nuno, Rachael, Ryenne and Mick to the team. Each person brings a unique skillset to their interesting mix of positions spanning from client liaison to supplier handling.

“Here at Baxter Freight, we’re committed to investing in training, mentoring and support so I have no doubt they will thrive in their new roles. We are still on the lookout for people who are passionate about their career progression and want to join a company that offers robust training and mentoring, as well as excellent financial rewards.”

Shella, account manager at Baxter Freight, has worked in sales for more than three years but logistics is a new area for her. She said:

“Freight is a new industry for me but it’s one that I’m really excited to learn more about, particularly as the number of businesses that need transportation is astonishing.

“I really enjoy building relationships with customers and learning not only about their industries, but also how to solve their problems. Baxter Freight therefore seemed like the perfect fit.”

After graduating with a degree in business management from the University of Derby, trainee finance administrator Ryenne was keen to join a dynamic company to apply and expand the knowledge she gained during her studies.

She added:

“I was attracted to Baxter Freight because of the company’s training and mentoring offering, which will allow me to progress within a fast-moving business. The company really looks after its staff and I feel like I can forge a career here. I look forward to kickstarting my journey with Baxter Freight.”

Due to continued growth, Baxter Freight is looking to fill an additional 12 account manager roles by the end of the year. To apply, send your CV and a cover letter to careers@baxterfreight.com or call 0115 975 0400 for more information.
