Double success as J Tomlinson takes RHI Installer of the Year in the West Midlands

It’s official….  J Tomlinson is the top Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Installer of the Year across the whole of the Midlands.

Last month, the firm was named as RHI Installer of the Year at the East Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards 2019.

Now the firm has also won the accolade of RHI Installer of the Year at the West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards 2019.

The awards, which took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Coventry on Friday 12th April, celebrate best practice in the energy efficiency sector as it works to help homeowners reduce their energy bills, tackle fuel poverty and decrease carbon emissions.

The RHI Installer of the Year title recognises fully-qualified RHI Installers and contractors that provide excellent customer service and demonstrate a high standard of quality workmanship, whilst making a significant impact within their local communities.

Maintenance, refurbishment and construction services partner, J Tomlinson, has delivered over 70 renewable heat incentive installations during the past year alone, including both air and ground source heat pump schemes. As well as helping many residents save 30-40% on their heating bills, these energy efficient heating solutions also benefit the company’s clients by supporting them in meeting their carbon reduction targets.  In addition, as J Tomlinson is an MCS-accredited installer, housing organisations that have opted for renewable heat installations can apply for financial support via the Renewable Heat Incentive – a government scheme that aims to help the UK achieve its target of producing 12% of its heat from renewable sources by 2020.

The company, which is based in Nottingham and has branch offices at Canwell in the West Midlands and Wakefield in Yorkshire, was also highly commended in the Large-Scale Project of the Year category at the West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards, alongside Vaillant UK and client Bromford Housing. This joint nomination follows the installation of a Vaillant flexotherm ground source heat pump scheme that is helping Bromford residents living in an over-55’s sheltered housing development in Solihull to stay warm whilst reducing their fuel bills. In turn, the scheme has enabled Bromford to qualify for ECO and RHI funding and is also helping the Midlands-based housing organisation to meet their goals to bring all rental or let properties to a minimum EPC rating of C.

Steve Kirkland, director of maintenance at J Tomlinson, commented:

“We are delighted to have been named regional RHI Installer of the Year both in the East Midlands and West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards.

“J Tomlinson has been delivering renewable heating installations for over ten years and it is excellent to see so many housing organisations in the UK opting to introduce renewable heating solutions to their off-gas housing stock.”

J Tomlinson first received its RHI Installer of the Year title at the East Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards, which took place just last month. As a result of its recent regional wins, J Tomlinson has qualified to enter the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2019, which will be taking place in September.
