Property agency makes eight promotions at Ashby office

A leading property agency has made eight promotions at its Ashby office – including a new partner - as the firm sees a record number of employees advance in the business.

Fisher German has promoted Sarah DeRenzy-Tomson from associate director to partner, Matthias Charlton from senior surveyor to associate, Laura Knight from associate to senior associate and William Bostock from senior surveyor to associate.

The firm has also promoted Adam Baxter from surveyor to senior surveyor, Amanda Davies from HR advisor to HR manager, Janet Bainbridge from accounts assistant to senior regional administrator and Jason Charlton from safety, health and environment advisor to safety, health and environment manager.

Fisher German has also announced that head of planning Liberty Stones and head of infrastructure services Richard Broome have accepted an invitation to join the equity of the partnership.

Sarah was appointed as a partner after taking part in Fisher German’s inaugural ‘Pathway to Partnership’ scheme, which aims to prepare associate directors for the many responsibilities of being a partner.

Candidates who are put forward to complete the year-long programme are required to undertake a variety of training and tasks which develop their leadership skills and management approach.

Sarah, who joined Fisher German in 2014 and leads the firm’s utilities and sustainable energy planning team, delivers specialist planning advice for utilities, infrastructure and sustainable energy projects across England, Scotland and Wales.

She said:

“The Pathway to Partnership Programme was challenging, and a very good way to develop and practice leadership techniques.

“It was interactive and the whole approach was extremely people-focused and was good at identifying that there are a range of management techniques that can be adopted.

“Fisher German has a clear progression structure in place which is very beneficial for employees who have ambitions to climb the career ladder.

“I’m thrilled to become a partner - it is something I’ve always aspired to throughout my career. I really enjoy working at Fisher German and delivering results for our clients. Going forward I intend to focus upon business development, and I look forward to developing my team further.”

The career progressions mark a record for the firm, which has 15 offices across the UK and has made a total of 30 promotions at the same time across all areas of the business.

Charles Meynell, senior partner of Fisher German, said:

“We are very proud to announce a record 30 promotions across Fisher German, and I would like to congratulate all of those who have progressed within the business.

“Last April we implemented a new career progression framework for everyone across the firm.

“This inclusive approach means that colleagues at every level have a clear pathway to develop and progress should they wish to - something which is very important to Fisher German and has been well-received by staff.

“We have seen continued growth across the firm, and this is testament to the high quality, professional service that we provide to our clients. We will continue to support staff development and drive the business forward in the future.”
