It's Game On As Nottingham's Head Of Steam 'Powers Up'

The top floor at Nottingham’s Head of Steam is being transformed into a brand new gaming bar called ‘Power Up’, to celebrate a year in the city.

It will open throughout the week from 5pm, and will be open until 2am Friday and Saturday, and 1am Thursday, and will offer customers shuffleboards, American pool tables, pinball machines, electronic darts and retro arcade games.

Head of Steam: Power Up, on High Pavement, will launch on Friday 22 March, for an exclusive evening of free play and fun, along with a brand new food and cocktail menu for eager punters to sample on the night.

David Scott, head of managed estate at Camerons Brewery, which owns the Head of Steam brand, said:

“We are so lucky to have such a great space at the Head of Steam venue in Nottingham, and it is perfect for this new venture. We often run ‘game nights’ at the bar, which have been really successful, and so we wanted to really take those to the next level.

“Competitive socialising is becoming more and more appealing to those looking for something a bit different, it’s perfect for afterwork drinks, groups of friends, or even a first date, and offers a new twist on the normal night at the pub. We hope it’ll be a great place for people to let of some ‘steam’ after a long day at work.”

The Head of Steam will still open as normal on the ground floor, continuing with its famous craft beer and live music offering.

To mark its first anniversary, the venue will be launching a new food menu, and cocktail range. Head of Steam will offer a new take on its famous burgers including the new ‘Moving Mountains (vegan)’ burgers, and a twist on its classic pizzas.

As part of its new cocktail menu, the bar will introduce its take on the Espresso Martini and tequila inspired Bloody Mary.

David added:

“Head of Steam has been popular with locals in Nottingham who have shared our passion for craft beer, and live music, and we hope that ‘Power Up will be a brilliant addition to such a vibrant city. The concept is already proving successful in our Headingley venue in Leeds, so we hope it goes down as well here.”
