Partnership to deliver free bespoke training workshops to help potential businesses

Regeneration agency Erewash Partnership is providing a new series of free workshops to help start-up businesses get off the ground and grow.

The Partnership, which this year celebrates 25 years of supporting enterprise in Erewash, has created the programme, called Start and Grow, in response to public demand and because of its strong record in helping people turn their business potential into reality and subsequently grow.

It previously ran the Government's New Enterprise Allowance scheme, designed to help long-term unemployed people start their own business, but its new scheme will be available to help any budding entrepreneurs.

The Partnership has helped 375 people set up business over the last five years, during which it delivered more than 2,500 advice sessions.

The programme will kick off with a workshop on Tuesday March 5 entitled Understanding Your Market and How to Reach It which will take place from 9.30am-12.30pm.

The second, The Importance of Good Customer Service, will follow a week later(March 12) from 1-4.30pm, and the third, Basic Bookkeeping, will take place on Monday March 18 from 12.30-4.30pm.

Finally, the programme will conclude with a workshop on Getting Started with Social Media on Thursday March 28 from 9.30am-12.30pm.

The free workshops will all be held at the Partnership's headquarters at Bridge House, Derby Road, Long Eaton, with one-to-one support all delivered by experienced professionals.

Partnership chief executive Ian Viles said:

“The fact that we are now running these essential training workshops under our own steam means that instead of a one-size-fits-all programme we can tailor them to the needs of the individuals taking part which can be particularly helpful.”

More details are on the Partnership's website at www.erewash-partnership.com  where people can register online.
