Pegasus Group hand over giant cheque to charity

Pegasus Group has presented £20,000 to Alzheimer’s Society, the culmination of a year of varied and enthusiastic fundraising.

The final figure far exceeded the original target of £15,000 – a figure chosen to celebrate the national consultancy’s 15th anniversary.

Accepting the cheque on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society, Carolyn McDonald, Community Fundraiser, said:

“Thank you so much to Pegasus Group for choosing to mark the company’s 15th anniversary by uniting with Alzheimer’s Society against dementia, we are extremely grateful.

“Dementia is the 21st century’s biggest killer with one person in the UK developing the condition every three minutes. Every pound raised by Pegasus Group colleagues will help us find a cure, improve care and offer help and understanding to those affected.”

Each of Pegasus Group’s 12 offices took part in fundraising events, which included the 2018 Yorkshire Pedalthon, Windermere Row, Leeds 10k, Warwickshire Triathlon, the Three Peaks Challenge, as well as office cycle challenges and office led baking competitions.

Pegasus has also unveiled national mental health charity Mind as its charity of the year for 2019. With shops and branches across the whole country, Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Pegasus Group Managing Director Tony Bateman said:

“Choosing a nominated charity of the year is a responsibility that we take extremely seriously.

“As a company, 2019 will see us shine a light on the wellness, wellbeing and mental health of our own colleagues and it therefore seemed appropriate to select a charity that reflected the importance we place on the mental wellbeing of all our staff.

“I am really proud of the dedication and commitment that everyone showed last year in beating our fundraising target, and hope that Mind receives the same level of support in 2019.”

Pegasus Group has more than 280 skilled and experienced staff offering services that span the entire project process from planning through to design and delivery, specialising in planning, design, environment, economics and heritage.
