Croots Farm Shop continues support for Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre

More than £600 has been raised by customers and staff at Croots Farm Shop over recent weeks in aid of Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

The popular Derbyshire farm shop and café has been supporting the charity for several years with regular fund-raising activities.

Over the festive period the shop collected £612.23 for Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre by giving a proportion of takings from Bright Friday and staging a Christmas raffle.

Kay Croot, who runs the farm shop in Wirksworth Road, just outside Duffield, said:

“Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre is a cause close to our hearts here at Croots Farm shop, and with brilliant support from customers and staff over a few years we have raised thousands of pounds to help disadvantaged youngsters have much-needed holidays.

“We’re delighted that we were able to add to that total by raising money over the festive period. Once again, we’d like to thank the generosity of our customers and staff in helping us to make this donation.”

Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre is a charity which was established in 1891 to provide Derbyshire children having troubles in their home lives with a holiday in Skegness, Lincolnshire. At the present time it provides 660 holiday places per season.

Croots Farm Shop, which is based at Farnah House Farm, is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm (Shires Eatery until 4.30pm) and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Croots runs Fresh Fish Thursdays between 9am and 1pm on Thursdays.
