Local Business Network raises money for local and small national charity

A local networking group,“Business For You” which meets at the Kegworth Hotel and Conference Centre on the first Friday of every month for coffee and networking, held a fundraising raffle at it’s annual Christmas lunch.

All the prizes were donated by members of the group and the sum of £190 was raised  which was split between two small charities:-

  • A local charity, “Living Without Abuse” which has its HQ in Loughborough which provides support to men and women experiencing domestic abuse across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and
  • A small national charity “The Dyspraxia Foundation which supports both children and adults who have poor co-ordination which can be physical, verbal or both. Around 5% of all adults in the UK have some form of Dyspraxia which can range from mild to severe.

As part of the proceedings, the group were entertained by Karl Craig West of Buzz Website Design in Leicester, who reprised his stand-up routine given at the Leicester Stand-Up Challenge last month as part of the Leicester Business Festival

On behalf of the group, Elliot Harris of Strategy and Governance said:

“Business For You is one of the most friendly networking groups in the East Midlands.  The willingness to give something back to the community within which we work, couldn’t be better expressed than by not only our fundraising efforts for these two great charities but also the Value Added Talks that members give each month, to ensure that anyone attending the event, goes away with some snippet of information which will help them in their business.”
