Millfield School library enters a new chapter

Children at Heighington Millfield Primary Academy in Lincoln are benefitting from a refreshed library thanks to the generous help from staff at Branston.

The team at Branston dedicated almost 40 hours to organising the school’s library, as well as donating 50 new books to the school’s collection.

Rolling up their sleeves the team of six gave up their day to help organise and catalogue the expansive school library, which over time had become disorganised making it difficult for children to find their favourite stories or discover classic tales.

Jenna Warman, teacher at Heighington Millfield Primary Academy said:

“We want to extend our thanks to the team at Branston who generously gave up their time to organise the library for the children. Our staff and pupils are really grateful for their help and for the additional donation of new books. Reading is such an important part of learning and enjoyment for the children.”

Simon Telfer, HR and logistics director at Branston said:

“It’s really important to us at Branston that we give back to the local community and our staff are encouraged to take time for CSR activities. When we heard that Millfield needed help, we rallied a group and dedicated the day to improving the school library, and we all found it really rewarding.

“It may not be a big monetary donation, but we know it’s made a big difference to the school.”

Branston is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of potatoes - for leading UK retailers and wholesalers - as well as providing seed for potato growers.
