Homelessness charity celebrates 10th anniversary with rugby-themed dinner

The Bridge – Homelessness to Hope is celebrating its 10 anniversary with a charity dinner, to be held at Leicester College on 9 January 2019.

The Bridge - Homelessness to Hope is one of Leicester Tigers’ nominated charities for 2018/19 and former Tigers player and BBC Radio Leicester commentator, Bleddyn Jones, will be answering questions at the dinner. All proceeds from the dinner will go to providing services to support the city’s homeless community.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 07974 810 771 or emailing info@carolynactonevents.co.uk

Bleddyn Jones said:

"I'm delighted that The Bridge Homelessness to Hope is one of Leicester Tigers' selected charities of the year and hope that the evening raises much-needed funds for all of the good work that they do with the city's homeless community. I'll hopefully be able to answer all of the rugby-related questions that the audience throws at me!"

Steve Owen, Chair of The Bridge - Homelessness to Hope added:

“We’re very grateful to have the support of the Leicester Tigers and this evening is a fantastic way to celebrate our 10th anniversary and to raise some funds to help the city’s homeless at the same time.”

The Bridge – Homelessness to Hope runs The Hope Centre offering a range of specialist support services including mentoring and mental health wellbeing. The centre also provides up to 100 early breakfast servings for rough sleepers per week and almost 10,000 meals per year to the homeless and vulnerable.

The charity is run by over 60 volunteers plus three part- and full-time staff, and has been helping homeless people to turn their lives around since 2009. For more information, visit www.bridgeleicester.org
