intu Derby’s Giving Box spreads festive cheer for less fortunate families

intu Derby is spreading festive cheer to less fortunate families throughout Derbyshire, with the return of its annual charity Giving Box.

Teaming up with Gem 106 in aid of children’s charity Cash for Kids, the initiative encourages the community to help make a difference to local underprivileged children by donating a Christmas gift this season.

Visitors can get involved in this year’s appeal by picking up a gift tag from the Giving Box, located on level 1 near Debenhams, which reveals the age of a child in need.

Shoppers should then hit the centre’s stores to select something special, before attaching its tag and returning it to the Giving Box.

Presents must be returned before Sunday 16 December, where they will be distributed to families in time for the big day.

Carly Salisbury, marketing manager at intu Derby, said:

“We are proud to welcome the return of our charity Giving Box this year. We’re dedicated to supporting a wide variety of causes throughout the year, and the Giving Box is a fantastic opportunity to spread some festive cheer and help local, less fortunate families at this special time of year.

“Our visitors are always incredibly generous and last year a huge amount of gifts were donated, which we know will have brought smiles to the faces of many. We hope our shoppers will get behind the appeal once again, and help make Christmas that bit more magical for children throughout Derbyshire,” she added.
