Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Whitemeadow launches new online careers portal to help recruitment drive

Independent British furniture manufacturer Whitemeadow is on a recruitment drive… and has launched a new online careers portal to help fill the current roles it has on offer.

The Nottinghamshire firm currently has a wide variety of vacancies across the business as it gears up production ahead of the busy Christmas and New Year sales period and beyond.

It has launched a new careers section on its website to make it easier for jobseekers to find out more about working for the company and how to apply.

Whitemeadow, which manufactures made-to-order furniture for a host of retailers across the UK, currently has several factory roles on offer including goods-in team leaders, HGV drivers, re-cutters and production operatives. It is also always on the lookout for good quality, hard-working people including experienced upholstery sewing machinists and upholsterers to join its growing workforce.

Earlier this year, the firm invested around £700,000 in a new state-of-the-art design and development centre which is unique to the industry. The centre is used to design, test and create the latest furniture designs and innovations, as well as acting as a showroom for clients in the furniture trade.

It also opened the doors of the Whitemeadow Sewing School, which gives up to six new recruits at a time the opportunity to receive on-the-job training in all aspects of sewing fabrics required to make Whitemeadow’s range of sofas and other furniture, while gaining a Level 2 qualification.

Ian Oscroft, Whitemeadow’s Managing Director, said:

“As one of the largest employers in the area, we are always on the lookout for skilled and general workers to help us scale-up our operations as our business continues to grow.

“We are entering our busiest period of the year and have a host of vacancies on offer, so would love to hear from anyone interested in working with a traditional British manufacturer and a true leader in our field.

“As well as a good wage with voluntary overtime opportunities, we also offer 30 days’ holiday a year, good welfare facilities, a wide range of employee benefits and opportunities to enable you to fulfil your potential.

“We have a great workplace culture here at Whitemeadow which is driven by our family business ethos and are always on the lookout for people with the right attitude, willingness to learn and energy to be a part of our team. We offer great career and development opportunities in return.”

Founded in 1990, Whitemeadow employs around 500 people across six sites in the Ashfield area. It is one of the few remaining independently-owned British upholstery manufacturers.

It has become one of the most trusted and well-respected companies in its industry and is a key supplier to the UK’s largest and best-known blue chip and independent furniture retailers.
