Find out how to run your business 'The Toyota Way' at the iHub with the Managing Director of Toyota UK

Anyone looking to improve their business is invited to attend a special event at the iHub on Infinity Park with Marvin Cooke, managing director of Toyota UK.

The event, entitled ‘Find out how to run your business 'the Toyota Way' is being hosted by Connect Derby and takes place from 5.30pm on Wednesday 5 December.

Toyota Manufacturing UK (TMUK) employs over 3,000 people and has invested over £2.75 billion in its UK operations. Marvin is responsible for the company's vehicle manufacturing in Derby and engine manufacturing at Deeside, North Wales.

During the evening Marvin will talk about the business principles behind the success of Toyota, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, whose UK manufacturing plant is in Burnaston.

He will discuss the ‘The Toyota Way’ – built upon the fundamental principles of continuous improvement and respect for people – and how Toyota’s principles can be applicable to other businesses or industries beyond manufacturing.

He will also talk about his experiences with the ‘Toyota Production System’, the world-renowned manufacturing philosophy that aims to eliminate waste and achieve the greatest possible efficiency.

Commenting on the event, Ann Bhatti, head of the Connect Derby managed workspace scheme of which the iHub is a part, said:

Anyone interested in business is welcome to attend the event, which is free of charge. The evening will start at 5.30pm with Marvin speaking at 6.00pm for around 45 minutes including a Q&A. Afterwards, guests will have the opportunity to continue networking until 7.30pm.
