Laying the foundations for Miller Homes' new apprentices

Three new apprentices have started work with Miller Homes Midlands, building a solid foundation for a career in construction.

Toby Stokes, 16, from Leicestershire, will join fellow apprentice Matt Rayner, at the housebuilder’s Charters Gate development in Castle Donington, which is set to be launched in 2019. Sam Swift, another apprentice from Derby, will work from the recently opened Hackwood Park development in Radbourne.

During the three-year placement, the apprentices will combine a combination of practical work with college studies, working towards a recognised qualification and potentially a full-time job.

Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome our three new apprentices to the team. As a company, we’re committed to helping school leavers get onto the career ladder and we’re looking forward to watching them develop during their time with us.

“Toby, Matt and Sam are all dedicated and hardworking, and I know they will be an asset when working on site with our teams. Alongside college training, nothing beats the practical experience you get learning from professionals, especially when there are opportunities to apply for permanent roles where available.”

As well as being the first housebuilder to offer an online reservation service, Miller Homes also recently received a five-star rating in the Home Builders Federation (HBF) New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey.
