Four-legged friends help Lincolnshire law firm mark World Mental Health Day

Employees at a leading Lincolnshire solicitors were encouraged to bring their dogs to work to mark World Mental Health Day.

Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management, which has eight branches across the county, led the way in workplace harmony, offering employees the opportunity to bring their four-legged friends into the office to promote a more relaxed, productive and enjoyable environment.

Amy Urquhart, Financial Services Paraplanner at the Stamford office, was accompanied by her spaniel, Daniel. Claire Dolby, Senior Legal Assistant, also popped in with her new puppy, a working cocker spaniel called Ernie. The pooches were joined by another four-legged friend, belonging to a plumber who was working in the office.

Edward Conway, Chief Executive Officer, said:

“The benefits of having a dog are well known, they improve health, reduce stress and stave off depression. This year mental health charity MIND is our chosen charity of the year. World Mental Health Day provided the perfect opportunity to combine the benefits of owning a dog and the positive effects it can have on mental well being.

“Judging by the laughs and giggles coming from staff it is fair to say that the day was a big hit.”

In Boston, para legal Gemma Baumber’s pug shihtzu crossbreed, Lady, helped to provide a feel-good atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Bailey joined the team at the Spalding office where owner Laura Collins, a conveyancing executive, organised a rota for walking duty.

Edward added:

“The Spalding office also held its third monthly lunch club. Tracey and Andrew Dawson cooked a lovely vegetable stew with ham and fresh crusty bread also on offer for those that wanted it. This was followed up by a bread and butter pudding. Bailey made a good job of hoovering up any of the crumbs that were dropped.”

Meanwhile in the Newark office, Kerrie Beardsall, Legal Support Assistant, brought her yellow labrador, Thor, into the office.

Chattertons Solicitors and Wealth Management partner, Roly Freeman was very happy to have his English springer spaniel “Prince Hector the Magnificent”, spend the day with him in the office.

Jazz the springer spaniel joined owner Melissa Thompson, Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management Partner, and employees at the Lincoln office and Rosie the Patterdale/Lakeland terrier cross, accompanied owner Pam Goodrich at the Grantham office.
