Marketing Derby will host its first joint Derby and Derbyshire Embassy event at the House of Lords, Palace of Westminster this week.

With over 200 people due to attend, the event will celebrate the best of the city and county, with speakers from both who will talk about creating investor impetus and confidence, some of the successes and the strong offer as a place to work, live and play.

The event will be hosted by Bishop Alastair Redfern former Bishop of Derby at the House of Lords, Palace of Westminster.

William Cavendish, Earl of Burlington and current Chancellor of the University of Derby will also say a few words.

The event will bring together public and private sector members from across the city and county to promote partnership and collaboration county-wide.

Headline partner of the event Pick Everard, national property, construction and infrastructure consultancy, will be making a special announcement about a multi-million-pound project that they are due to commence.

Duncan Green, managing partner at Pick Everard said:

“Pick Everard is a property, construction and infrastructure consultancy which has had its Head Office in the East Midlands for more than 150 years.

“Building mutually beneficial relationships has resulted in the significant growth of our business.

“We’re grateful for opportunities like this, to network and hear from people and businesses with connections to both London and Derby – promoting the two in partnership and growing both economies.  We’re seeing significant regeneration taking place in Derby - and across the region - and our relationship with the capital is continuously strengthened by this.”

Digital marketing expert Burnthebook are also supporting the event.

“As a business with offices in both Derby and London, we truly understand the need to promote our home city of Derby to a wider commercial audience. It’s great to have an organisation as forward thinking as Marketing Derby, visibly working to connect the Capital with Derby and Derbyshire in such an exciting way and so we are absolutely delighted to offer our support as a partner."
