OrderWise Showcases Innovative Robotics Technology

Adding to an already impressive year for turnover, awards and new staff, specialist software provider OrderWise is showing no signs of slowing down. The company is now showcasing its developing robotics technology, which it plans to launch next year.

Every year OrderWise commits to investing into ongoing research, innovation, development and testing so that its integrated business management software remains innovative. The robotics technology already has two million pounds invested into its development, which will be exhibited at SME Live in Birmingham this week.

David Hallam, Managing Director at OrderWise, said:

"We're always looking to the future here at OrderWise and after a long time researching product to picker robotic warehouse automation, we're working with key strategic partners to develop our own robotics solution as our head offices in Lincoln that integrate directly with the OrderWise software. This means an order can be placed on a company's website and moments later the item delivered to a packer by a robot, allowing the order to be fulfilled with minimum cost and maximum efficiency.

“It’s no secret that warehouse labour shortages are becoming increasingly common for many businesses. Companies are competing to increase sales and drive growth, while trying to avoid the costs of hiring more staff – and ultimately that’s where product to picker robotic warehouse automation comes in.”

Research shows that 70% of staff time is spent travelling around warehouses to pick stock for orders. David added:

“The reason we are investing in our new product to picker robotics technology is to help businesses reduce fulfilment costs. One of the key benefits of warehouse robots is the significant productivity rate that can be achieved, which in turn can improve efficiency and aid faster fulfilment. With many companies we can offer single touch picking."

OrderWise has also invested in a full-scale demo warehouse, which has been used to test the robotics technology prior to the showcase at SME Live. Several clients are already signed up to pilot the new OrderWise robotics technology once it has been launched next year.

Visitors attending the SME Live expo, taking place on 16th to 17th October at the NEC in Birmingham, will be able to get a glimpse of the company’s developing robotics software.
