Students celebrate intu Victoria Centre's shopping night

Thousands of students visited intu Victoria Centre last night (2 October) for its annual Student Shopping Night.

During the event, students were treated to an evening of music, discounts and games. With the mall lights dimmed and live DJ sets throughout the night creating a party atmosphere, students also had the chance to win a selection of prizes, including a £10 intu Gift Card for the first 100 shoppers who made purchases from five shops in the centre’s Shop Golf giveaway.

intu also worked alongside Nottingham College’s fashion students to create colourful displays of caged mannequins wearing their latest creations.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager at intu Victoria Centre, said:

“We were delighted to welcome so many students into our centre last night, not only to enjoy the amazing discounts, but also see the fantastic range of retailers we offer. We were really excited to preview our brand new VR gaming experience, meetspaceVR, which officially launches later this month. The students had the opportunity to test out the VR pods last night, and it was great to see them enjoying the exciting experience.

“As well as the night’s entertainment and shopping, we also teamed up with representatives from Blurt, a national foundation that helps those affected by depression. Student life can be stressful, especially if just starting university in a new city without knowing many people. We teamed up with Blurt across all intu shopping centres to show students that there is help out there across the country, and help them learn how to deal with stressful situations before they get out of hand.

“A massive thank you to all our student shoppers and retailers for making this year’s event such a success. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces.”
