Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Enterprise Loans files the flag for East Mids entrepreneurs

LEADING responsible loan provider Enterprise Loans East Midlands (ELEM) has received further recognition for its work with businesses across the region as it earns a nomination in the ‘Community Excellence of the Year’ category at the Nachural Entrepreneurship Awards 2018.

Enterprise Loans is an enterprise development organisation offering loan funding and advice to SME businesses across the East and South East Midlands. Businesses can apply for a loan between £3,000 and £150,000 through one of several funding streams, tailored to different stages of the business lifecycle, including Start Up Loans, Business Growth and Creative Quarter.

Enterprise Loans also delivers small business loan funding through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF), supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The MEIF project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the ERDF as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.

The ‘Community Excellence of the Year’ category is for businesses trading for two years or more with outstanding achievement in community involvement - from private sector initiatives that promote community development, to voluntary organisations and community based businesses.

Qammar Zamman, CEO of Enterprise Loans, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. It is a tribute to the hard work of our entire team, day in and out, who help entrepreneurs and businesses to pursue their dreams and further their business goals.

“It is a real honour and we look forward to sharing the floor with some of the great businesses who are also up for the award.”

The black-tie event, which will be held at Leicester’s Maher Centre on Friday 28 September, will recognise and reward the achievements of key individuals and organisations with the entrepreneurial mind set. The event is all about celebrating the ideas, innovation and strategic thinking with business leaders and entrepreneurs, press and investors across both the West Midlands and East Midlands.

Ninder Johal, CEO of production company Nachural, said:

“With almost full employment, a steadily growing economy, a low pound and the raising of interest rates recently, confidence amongst businesses is mixed. As businesses, we need an environment that breeds certainty and a government that has long term aspirations and a vision to encourage wealth creation.

“We feel it is important that the East Midlands and the wider region needs to celebrate its achievements and in the current climate it is easy to forget the contributions of businesses in the area. From start-ups to established employers in the area, the East Midlands and the wider region has much to boast about.”

The full list of award categories include Business Start-up of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Community Excellence of the Year, Customer Service, International Trade/Enterprise, Business Woman of the Year, Hospitality Business of the Year, and Business Person of the Year. The winners will be announced on the night.
