Finalists announced for the fbe East Midlands Awards 2018

Organisers of this year’s fbe East Midlands Awards, which recognise and reward some of the region’s best construction projects, have unveiled the shortlisted schemes that are in line to take the top slots.

The list includes projects across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, as well as the best of the sector’s rising young stars.

Regional director of the fbe East Midlands Nic Jepson, of InLine Property Consultants, said:

“We had a fabulous response to all categories of the awards and the judges had a tough job choosing the finalists.”

The shortlisted projects for the Residential Award, sponsored by Faithful + Gould, are Knights Close, Billesdon in Leicestershire, nominated by Geda Construction, B@Home, Bolsover in Derbyshire, nominated by Robert Woodhead, and Strelley Court, Broxtowe in Nottingham, put forward by Geda Construction.

For the Non-Residential Award, sponsored by Survey Hub, the shortlist includes the Isaac Newton Building at the University of Lincoln, nominated by Maber, the Crispbread Bakery at Bardney in Lincolnshire put forward by Gleeds, and RAF College Cranwell near Sleaford in Lincolnshire, which was nominated by Galliford Try Building.

The finalists for the Regeneration Award are Cotgrave Retail Refurbishment and Business Hub in Nottinghamshire, nominated jointly by BSP Consulting and Allan Joyce Architects, New Bolsover Model Village at Bolsover in Derbyshire, put forward by Robert Woodhead, and University Hall phase 1 at Nottingham Trent University, nominated by YMD Boon.

The three finalists in the Rising Star Award, which is open to individuals under 30 years of age who have shown outstanding achievements in their field, whether that be in construction, design or associated professional or support services for the industry, and which has been sponsored by Duncan & Toplis, are Shivam (Shiv) Radia from Edward Cooper Young, Dannielle Baguley from J Tomlinson Ltd and Mohammed Moosa from YMD Boon.

The winners will be announced at the 2018 Chairman’s Awards Dinner, sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric, at the Albert Hall, North Circus Street, Nottingham, on Thursday 4th October.

Two sponsorship opportunities remain – for the drinks reception and the Regeneration Award. The last few limited tickets and tables for the black-tie event are now available. Tickets are priced £60 for fbe members, £70 for non-members, with a table of ten costing £650.
