Giant Ball Pit creates waves at intu Victoria Centre

This week, Nottingham shoppers are being treated to intu Victoria Centre’s latest attraction, a giant ball pit.

Situated on the lower mall, just outside Boots and Next, the 69 square metre ball pit opened on Monday 13 August, as part of the centre’s summer holiday activities.

Until 21 August, visitors can take a swim in the ball pit and hunt for one golden ball per day, hidden somewhere among the 70,000 balls, for a chance to win a family ticket to the City of Caves.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager of the two intu centres in Nottingham, said:

“Keeping children occupied during the summer holidays is no mean feat, and often after the first week off, many parents’ lists of activities have been exhausted. We’re giving families a helping hand by offering a choice of free, fun-filled activities they can enjoy together.

“Not only for children, our giant ball pit is a great excuse for parents to kick off their shoes, put down their shopping bags and dive in too.

“As well as the giant ball pit unveiling this week, we have a tennis table, big chess sets and a visit from PJ Masks characters on 23 August.. Don’t forget, we’ve also got our large TV screens in the centre that are perfect for any little ones wanting to watch their favourite fictional characters and animated heroes on a big screen during your shopping trip.”

He added that the activities, which are all part of the free activities held in centre to intu’s free family club, following on from the centre’s successful events throughout July:

“Over the past few weeks, it’s been great to see people of all ages enjoying our pop-up attractions – which included a bubble wrap popping at our customer service desks and free sweet treats like ice-cream and candy floss.”

The ball pit is open daily from 13 to 21 August, from 11am to 4pm and entry is free. For more information, and to pre-book your place, visit
