Another awesome year for PKF Cooper Parry

PKF Cooper Parry continues to help more and more businesses in the Midlands grow, become more tax efficient, get up to speed with their IT and much more. It acts for more privately owned, locally owned, business with turnover £10m-£200m than anyone else in the Midlands.

In the past 12 months, PKF Cooper Parry has continued its impressive growth trajectory and increased its revenue year on year by 11% to £35m, meaning the business has doubled in size in just over three years. It has also appointed nine new partners, hired over 90 new starters, expanded into the West Midlands market and celebrated several prestigious awards wins.

PKF Cooper Parry predominantly advises privately owned businesses on audit, tax, IT and corporate finance. It began the financial year with a move into its West Midlands based office at Blythe Valley Business Park. This followed the acquisition of former Birmingham based accountancy firm, Clement Keys.

As well as its continued growth, PKF Cooper Parry has been shortlisted for 58 awards in the year too. It came 12th in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2018 list. It picked up Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm at Tolley’s Taxation Awards earlier this year. Its Audit team has also been shortlisted for Audit Team of the Year at The British Accountancy awards this September.

A host of industry awards is backed up by a Net Promoter Score of 62%, which is market leading in its profession. The business repeatedly puts leading client service scores down to its unique working culture, complete with both its offices named by The Sunday Times and The Telegraph as the best in the country. After its relocation, its West Midlands office was quickly recognised by The Telegraph as one of the “top 10 coolest in the UK”. This culture leads to more engaged employees, supporting the business in hiring and retaining the best talent.

Amongst people promoted in the past year to Partner were Corporate Finance Partner, Phil Hinson, and Head of People & Culture, April Bembridge. To lead the business into the digital age, the business also appointed Partner & Chief Digital Officer, Abi Bown, from Vodafone. Scott Riley also joined from a former position as Chief Strategy Officer at GCI, as a Partner in PKF Cooper Parry’s IT Solutions business.

In the past year, the business has also raised £27,000 for The Prince's Trust, as well as giving over 400 days of volunteering to other causes and charities in the Midlands. It has recently named its new charity partner as Heart Link, a support a support group based in Glenfield Hospital, Leicester for parents and families who have a child suffering from a heart defect.

Earlier on in the year, its IT Solutions business also acquired Sync Interactive, a creative agency based in the West Midlands specialising in mobile and business apps. The deal expanded its business offering, giving clients even more cutting-edge ways to grow their business through technology.

PKF Cooper Parry’s financial planning business, Cooper Parry Wealth also had its best year ever. It increased its revenue by 30%. It also picked up the Best Financial Advisers to Work For and Professional Paraplanner Team of The Year awards. It was also named in the New Model Adviser Top 100 list for the fourth year running.
