The Derby Conference Centre welcomes new Wedding & Events Coordinator to help arrange the perfect day

By popular demand, The Derby Conference Centre is once again offering weddings as part of their event services. In order to keep pace with this demand, the Centre has announced the arrival of a new Wedding & Events Coordinator, Jessica Wood.

Jessica will be heavily involved in generating enquiries and planning weddings at The Derby Conference Centre, meeting with prospective couples to ensure their service meets and exceeds their expectations. Jessica expressed:

“I really wanted to work in a place which would expand my knowledge and skills, and to work with hard-working and passionate colleagues. The Derby Conference Centre offers me all of this and more! I’m really looking forward to expanding my knowledge and providing my skills and experience with all clients, to give them the best possible wedding or event.”

Throughout her A-Levels, Jessica worked at a different wedding venue as a set-up member and waitress, before moving to London to attend The Event Academy. This enabled her to visit different venues, work with professional companies, and plan an event herself with the help of a team.

In her new role as the Wedding & Events Coordinator at The Derby Conference Centre, Jessica will be looking to utilise her skills and experience in order to attract a wider audience to the venue. She also hopes that she’ll be able to bring vibrancy and enthusiasm to her role and is especially excited to be working within the Centre’s team of expert event organisers.

Jessica says,

“Working in a business focused environment has always been my main goal after finishing education. I’m the sort of person who will always go the extra mile to ensure my customers enjoy a successful and memorable day. For each event or wedding, I’ll always bring passion and enthusiasm for their special day. There will be no greater reward than making our clients happy!”

The Derby Conference Centre is a Grade II-listed building first constructed in 1938 as a purpose-built college for railway staff. After a major restoration and renovation in 2007, the Centre has now become a popular choice for conferences, events and accommodation, and Jessica hopes to show its new capabilities as a beautiful wedding venue for anyone looking to tie the knot.
