Shed Wins £46,000 Contract with Wilko’s

Shed Grounds Maintenance, the award-winning grounds and exterior maintenance contractors have secured a £46,000 per annum contract with the retailer Wilko.

The UK wide contract started in May and includes maintenance at Wilko’s Head Office, two distribution depots in Worksop and Wales, and 42 of their stores from Castle Douglas to Bedminster. Since starting the contract, Shed has also been awarded additional services including Japanese knotweed treatment, site landscape improvements and tree surgery projects.

Wilko’s was founded in 1930 in Leicester and sells homewares and household goods through its high street stores. Unusually, it remains in the hands of the founding family operating from its head office just outside of Worksop.

After 12 months of a carefully considered procurement process, Wilko’s awarded Shed the grounds maintenance contract, complimenting them on the professionalism of their approach and quality of their bid. Shed replaces a previous contractor who had been in situ for 20 years.

Peter Botham, Managing Director remarked,

“This contract win is the culmination of a year of hard work and a great effort from the Shed team. We are very pleased to see that our commitment to quality and the environment is recognised by companies such as Wilko and welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with them to deliver a high-quality and reliable service.”

Celebrating its 15th birthday this year, the Chesterfield-based company has depots and service teams around the country. Shed has an impressive client portfolio including local authorities, academic establishments, freight, property and facilities management companies as well as many private customers.

This contract crowns an excellent start to sales in the 2018 where Shed have won over 26 new contracts including Risley with Hopwell Parish Council, Restore and the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. Shed have also won multi-site contracts with companies Workman LLP, Whittle Jones and the Chamber of Commerce.

Existing clients such as Ceva Logistics, Flexspace and Ryden have awarded Shed further sites to add to their current portfolios, showing commendation of the quality of work and reliability that they receive.

Shed continues to enjoy healthy growth and has established itself as an excellent provider of commercial grounds and exterior maintenance services.
